Twenty Minute Pillowcase

 

We are participating in the APQ Million Pillowcase Challenge and offer this class for those who want to learn to make a pillowcase to donate to this charity event.  Read more about this on the Special Events page in July.  This class shows you how to make a pillowcase with enclosed seams.  Yes?.in 20 minutes you can complete a pillowcase!  Wednesday Sept. 15, 10:30-11:30.  $10 fee includes free pattern.

Landscape Applique with Maria Lage

Join our special guest instructor, Maria Lage, well known fiber artist, as she takes you through the steps of landscape appliqué.  You will have a choice of landscapes to choose from.  Seating is limited so sign up quickly.  Saturday, Oct. 23, 10-4. $50 plus supplies.

Begin to Quilt – Rail Fence

Learn basic techniques including fabric selection, rotary cutting, accurate piecing methods and finishing your quilts during this 3 session program.  Wednesdays, Sept. 1, 15 and 29, 1:30-4 or Thursdays, Sept. 9, 23 and Oct. 7, 6-8:30. $50.

MAGIC STACK AND WHACK

Take one fabric, layer and cut.  From this, you will get beautiful kaleidoscope blocks to complete your lap size quilt.  Tuesdays June 22 and 29, 12:30-4:30. $45.

Quilted Sling Bag

Join Diane and learn how to make a quilted handbag using Amy Butler's Birdie Sling pattern.  Everyone will want one of these. Saturdays Sept. 11 and 18, 1-4:30.  $30.  Pattern required.

 

Binding Workshop

Do you still have a problem getting those ends of your binding to come together smoothly?  Joann will show you how to attach your binding and finish it in a snap.  Take home a sample for future reference.  Sept. 8, 2-4. $10.

UFO NIGHT 

Need to finish that binding? Half-way into that quilt? Pick out a UFO (unfinished object) and join us on the second Saturday of the month.  Have fun working on a project as we sew from 5 to 9 p.m.  Saturday, Sept 11 and Oct 9. $10 per session.

Machine Embroidery Club

Meet with us on the third Thursday of each month to work on a project and get tips or learn more about what your embroidery machine can do. This month we will make a scissor case in the hoop.  Thursday Sept 16 and Oct 21, 6 to 9.  $20 per session.

Table Graces Placemats

Whip up these placemats in a jiffy using a quilt-as-you-go technique.  You will make one placemat in class. Pattern also includes lined cloth napkins and line tablecloth. Makes great housewarming or holiday gifts. Thursday Sept 16, 1-3. $20.

9 Patch Pizzazz

"Fast, fun and finished in a day" says Judy Sisneros, author of 9 Patch Pizzazz.  Use 6" and 12" squares, a couple of 12 x 6 rectangles and 9 patches to create a fun and easy quilt.  Friday, Sept 10 and 16, 1-4. $45.

T-Shirt Quilt

Bring your collection of T-shirts and learn now to prepare them and design your quilt layout.  You must have rotary cutting experience. Thursday, Sept 23, 30 and Oct 7, 1-4. $65.

 

Curves with Accent Piping

We will show you how to add piping to your drunkard's path blocks using the Groovin' Piping Trimming Tool and Quilt Smart Curves.  This is a free demo that you won't want to miss. Saturday, Sept 25, 3-4.

Preparing Your Quilt for Quilting

Learn the criteria necessary to prepare your quilt top and backing for yourself or your professional quilter. Learn how to square up your backing and make sure your top is ready for the finishing touches.  Bring a quilt top and backing with you.  Wednesday, Oct. 13, 10-11 or 3-4.

General Class Information

  • We maintain a no-refund, no-credit policy on all classes unless cancelled by Just Quilts in which case a full cash refund will be made. There is no refund for missed sessions in a series.
  • Children and/or guests are NOT PERMITTED at any time.
  • Materials for workshops are an additional fee unless otherwise stated.
  • Copying of books and/or patterns is NEVER PERMITTED. Almost every workshop requires the purchase of a book or pattern for each class member.
  • Sewing machine classes require that you bring your machine to class and have a working knowledge of its uses. Please be sure the machine is in good working order.  There are a limited number of rentals available for classroom use.  Since most classes require homework, we recommend you use your own machine.
  • Unless otherwise specified, working knowledge of rotary cutting equipment is required.
  • Workshop materials must be purchased prior to the day of the class. Come to class prepared to sew.  We appreciate your support and offer a 10% discount on fabrics purchased for your class projects. 
  • In the case of series classes, missed classes cannot be made up. We will assist you in every way we can during regular shop hours.
